How Sedera Works

The concept behind Sedera is to get like-minded people who are committed to a healthy lifestyle together to share medical expenses. All members must express a belief in a healthy lifestyle, and Sedera focuses on helping all members minimize their medical expenses.

Sedera sets a up a 3-level program to help you obtain good healthcare at the lowest cost possible.

The first level is a an HSA-qualified health insurance plan. These plan covers 63 preventive services, such as annual physicals and vaccines, and satisfies the ACA requirements for Minimum Essential Coverage.

For the second level, unlimited access to doctors is provided online and by phone, 24 hours a day, at no charge. Discounts are available on lab services, imaging services, vision, chiropractic, and more, in order to minimize out-of-pocket costs.

Medium expenses up to $500 or $1000 per need (depending on your plan) are paid for by the member, hopefully from their Health Savings Account (HSA).

For the third level, expenses over $500 or $1000 are shared by members at a 100% level.

Are There Premiums?

There are no premiums; a member pays a monthly contribution, which is pooled with everyone else’s and used to cover bills. Called “shares,” this monthly payment is much lower than typical insurance premiums.

How to Benefit from Group Pricing Discounts

Sedera is designed for businesses of 3 or more. Because groups often get lower pricing on healthcare than individuals, we have arranged for our family and individual clients to also join in a group program through Mpowering Benefits, helping enhance your savings.

Because this is HSA-qualified, you can deposit pre-tax money in a tax-advantaged health savings account, which can then be used to pay future medical expenses. More information is on our HSA Info page.

To make the most of the program, be sure to take advantage of  your Sedera Advisor, whenever you have a medical need. They can help you find the right healthcare professionals, negotiate for the best prices, and even save money on surgeries.

Quotes and Application Process

To start the application process, you need to first run an quote on the quote box below this page. This will show you your rates, and take you to the Mpowering Benefits Enrollment page.

The first step is to agree to complete the Mpowering Benefits Enrollment and Lifestyle Profile.

In Step 2, in the Referring Source, choose “Wiley Long”. (If you do not choose us, we will not be able to help if you ever need assistance with your program.)

When you complete your payment info, there will also be a one-time $150 set-up fee to join the Mpowering Benefits group platform. In years two and beyond, there is a $50 annual membership renewal fee.

Mpowering Benefits will be paying you $25 for completing the Lifestyle Profile. In order to legally join this group plan, you must be a contract-employee of Mpowering Benefits. That is the purpose of the Independent Contractor agreement.

The final step will take you to the Sedera website, to complete that portion of the Application.

If you apply no later than the 20th of the month, your plan can be effective starting the first of the following month.
